Mr. Obama, stand up for America

Dear Editor:

While it seems that our so-called "commander-in-chief" Barack Obama is unable to make a decision on the strategy in Afghanistan, our casualties continue to mount. I wonder, if Obama had a son or daughter fighting there, if he could make a decision more quickly. Maybe that would speed up the process if it became a personal thing.

While Obama spends his time traveling the globe apologizing for America and trying to bring the Olympics to his beloved city of Chicago, and the news media focus on Michele Obama playing with a hula hoop, 58 of our fine young soldiers and marines have died this month (October) alone, defending their country from terrorists in Afghanistan.

While many American people view this as merely a statistic of war, those 58 courageous young men each had hopes and dreams for their future, hopes of going to college, hopes of raising a family and, above all, hopes of someday being reunited with their families; and 58 families have been devastated by the loss of a loved one.

I believe that most of these families would be able to eventually accept their loss as long as they know it was for a good cause, if they know that their loss would make this world a better place.

Therefore, as the father of a young marine who will soon be in harm's way, I call on Barack Obama to have the courage to make a tough decision quickly to send in the required number of troops to win this war or get out. Do not make this another Vietnam.

Mr. Obama, for our country's sake, stand up for America and be a real commander-in-chief!

" This just Republican rhetoric. He is the Commander-in-Chief, duly elected and is assessing the right direction and policy we should be going to. We have been there for 5-years and we are basically fighting Taliban forces. How many are Al Queda, we do not know. I am a 25-year veteran and my son serves and will soon be there. "

" I've become very disappointed in President Obama. He seems to have done a one-eighty since taking office. I thought he was more of man than this. Sadly, it's our troops that are suffering because of his inability to make a decision. "

" We (USA) nuked Japan for a lot less than what is going on now. There has been many attacks against the USA, our troops when stationed in allegedly safe places, like Ft Hood and yet.... Obama is starting to worry on me. I thought he had a lot more sense. Now he is pussyfooting about more troops in Afghanistan. Sure it's an ugly war, but it looks to me like either we keep our western freedoms or we succumb to that which is abhorrent to our spiritual and other sensibilities. "

" It should be very simple. NoBama is the next step down the hole from where Slick Willy took us. It's just that NoBama takes bigger steps (like a factor of 10)cause he knows his days are numbered.
Here's what Nobama sounds likje "Stop Please Stop or my wife will have to yell at you too and I don't want that so Please Stop cause Ii'm turely sorry for what the dog USA has done to you."
Now that sound like it will really help the situation out some. The President has all the data. "

" Semper Fi, Larry. Well said. Unfortunately, it appears our Commander in Chief doesn't have the cojones to make tough decisions. He talks the talk but so far he hasn't walked the walk.

Guess golf, campaigning and date night keep getting in the way. "
