Richard M. Campbell Sr.

Richard M. Campbell Sr., 93, of Mesa passed away Oct. 28, 2009.

He was born in Luzon, Texas, on Feb. 15, 1916, the youngest of seven children to Moses and Hallie Campbell. He is survived by his wife of 74 years, Lurlene Long. They have two sons, Richard M. Campbell Jr. (deceased) and wife, Frances Cluff; and Steven M. Campbell and wife, Rosalie Burrell; nine grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren.

Richard (known as Dick) lived in Thatcher, where he owned and operated the Chevron station for many years. He moved to Mesa in 1966, and he worked at Motorola until his retirement. Funeral services will be held in his honor Nov. 2 at the LDS Chapel, 3344 E. McDowell, Mesa, at 2 p.m. Viewing is at 1 p.m. Meldrum Mortuary is handling the arrangements.
