Art Robinson

A memorial Mass of Christian burial for Art Robinson, 69, of San Jose, who passed away at his residence Friday morning, Oct. 23, will be celebrated Saturday, Oct. 31, at 11 a.m. at the St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church by Rev. Ariel Lustan.

Art J. Robinson was born Sept. 18, 1940, the son of Carlos and Rosa Jusaino Robinson. He grew up and attended school in Pirtleville, Solomon and Douglas, where he graduated in 1959. While attending school in Solomon and Douglas, Art was active in various sporting activities. He most enjoyed playing basketball.

He was very appreciative of the support he received from the Safford Unified School District. Art worked during and after high school in the retail business. He was employed later by Phelps Dodge Mining Corporation and with the Bureau of Land Management, where he was a field supervisor. In 1990, Art retired from his duties with the BLM.

In retirement, he enjoyed camping, working around his home and spending time with his children and grandchildren. Art will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend to many.

Art leaves behind his loving wife of 22 years, Connie; his daughter, Cindy (Rudy) Lopez; four sons, Art (Annette), Anthony, Ken and Charles (Sherry); two sisters, Reyes Colvin and Julia Arvizu; six grandchildren, Artie Robinson, Lizette Robinson, Gianna Robinson, Tonio Lopez, Marco Lopez and Rachel Lopez. Art was preceded in death by two sisters, Emma Sanchez and Isabel Zaroni; and three brothers, Carlos, Reuben and Frank Robinson.

The rosary will be recited Saturday morning at 10 a.m. at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church.

The family invites friends to join them at a luncheon following the services Saturday at the American Legion Post #95 in Solomon.
